Music on the move with award-winning producer Jae Deal

Award-winning LA producer Jae Deal has worked with Janet Jackson, Elton john, Anya V, Snoop Dogg, Lady Gaga, CL and many others but says he only spends 10% of his work time in studios. The rest of the time he is out and about with just a laptop, headphones and, when recording, a Focusrite 212 and his Aston mics.

“I love the pristine sound I get from Aston mics, because they’re extremely durable and portable and when I need to bring in external sounds I just plug them in to my interface and my sound is right there.”

Jae splits his time between producing, touring - currently with keyboardist Brandon Coleman – and sharing his knowledge, teaching senior level courses at the University of Southern California.

He has been working long-term on his own project, a work named The Colour Collection, 74 minutes of evolving, layered music conceived and orchestrated across four continents whilst touring the globe with artists like Janet Jackson, Ne-Yo and Mary Mary. He is also currently working with LA-based singer and songwriter Anya V on her debut EP, due for release in early 2019.
