Aston Stealth beats the big brands to win 'Best Microphone' at NAMM TEC Awards
See the moment a UK boutique microphone manufacturer with just 18 employees wins 'Best Microphone' against some of the world's biggest global brands, stunning everyone, including the company's CEO!
The Aston Stealth picked up the award at the 35th TEC Awards, the 'Oscars' of the professional audio world, at the annual NAMM show in Anaheim, which celebrate 'technical excellence and creativity' in the industry. Only professionals that make their primary living in the music, sound and entertainment technology industries are eligible to vote.
Aston Microphones, which only formed in 2015, has already received three nominations at the awards so it was third time lucky with Stealth, the innovative 'master of all trades' mic which has been the talk of the live sound, recording, broadcast, podcast and voiceover fields since its launch last year.
After collecting the trophy CEO James Young said: "The team broke their backs to make this product. It's the hardest product we've made yet, It's an incredible achievement for such a small company. ASTON RULES!!"
NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) commented: “Aston Microphones has already proved that not only can a British team design some of the best microphones in the world, but they can build them in the UK and make them affordable for everyone too.”
Like all of Aston's microphones, Stealth was designed and built from ground up and is packed with unique features, including four discrete voices, active and passive modes, a built-in Class A preamp with 48v auto-detect and a proprietary internal suspension system.
