Nothing More at Abbey Road with Aston Stealth
American rock giants Nothing More are recording at London’s iconic Abbey Road studios, and front man Jonny Hawkins is using the Aston Stealth microphone to capture his vocals.
The band’s last album, ‘The Stories We Tell Ourselves’, was released in 2017 to widespread acclaim, with Loudwire calling it “One of the best albums of the year.” At the time of writing there has been no announcement regarding the new recordings but fans will hope there’s a new release round the corner.
While in St. John’s Wood the band took time out to recreate the famous Beatles zebra-crossing photo, updating the iconic image by all staring at their smartphones as they crossed the road.
Nothing More are on the road in September and October with a series of dates across USA and Canada.
Launched in January 2019, the Aston Stealth is already a popular choice amongst top studios and the artists, engineers and producers who work in them. The ultra-versatile dynamic mic has been compared favourably to far costlier mics and received numerous accolades including a nomination for the prestigious NAMM TEC awards. Tape Op magazine said: “If I was stuck on a desert island with one microphone, this might be it.”
