Aston Microphones go quadraphonic as exclusive mic sponsors of AES Afterglow party
Aston Microphones are proud to be the exclusive mic sponsors of his year’s Afterglow, the AES Pro Audio Convention after-party, and the hottest ticket of the year for the movers and shakers of the audio industry. The event is being held on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at New York’s legendary Sear Sound studios to coincide with the 147th AES convention.
The highlight of the event will see Aston mics used to record a performance by Grammy-winning recording artist Jason Lindner (Now vs Now, David Bowie, Chick Corea, Angélique Kidjo) and multi-instrumentalist Nate Wood from the Grammy-nominated jazz collective Kneebody. The collaboration will be captured live in vintage quadraphonic sound direct to vinyl disc in what promises to be a fascinating journey back to the pre-digital days. The unique session will be produced by KamranV, renowned for spatial audio projects with artists including Nine Inch Nails, Sting and Beck.
The event also will feature product demonstrations including the chance to try Aston’s suite of ground breaking mics, the Origin, Spirit, Starlight and 2019’s most talked-about mic, the NAMM TEC Award-nominated Stealth.
