The Belfast buzz - Brand New Friend's Taylor Johnson

With headline gigs imminent in London and their home town of Belfast, there’s quite a buzz around Brand New Friend. The five-piece band is fronted by Taylor Johnson and his sister Lauren. Their younger brother Logan is the drummer, making it a real family affair.

In our interview with Taylor he describes how the band found themselves opening for Two Door Cinema Club and Snow Patrol, how the drum kits of Belfast leave something to be desired and how the Aston Spirit and Origin are all over the forthcoming EP. The seven track project is the follow-up to Brand New Friend’s debut album, the 2018 ‘Seatbelts for Aeroplanes’ of which XSNoize said:

“The release is a slammer that leaves the listener breathless in the wake of their musical onslaught of supernova pop fare.”

We’re looking forward to hearing the bands new EP, due out later this year, with Aston mics used for all the vocals!
