Singer, songwriter, guitarist, ‘The Voice’ sensation and Aston artist Troy Ramey.
Singer, songwriter and guitarist Troy Ramey played his first solo gig in 2013 and his career has been gathering pace ever since. He was already enjoying considerable success on Spotify and iTunes when USA TV show The Voice came knocking and catapulted him into the mainstream limelight.
Working with coach Gwen Stefani on the show, Troy was to reach the final 12, with each of his performances spreading round the internet like wildfire and one in particular, his version of Tom Petty’s ‘Freefalling’ going viral and reaching no.1 on the iTunes rock chart.
Today, with more than 5 million Spotify streams behind him, he is working on new material with renowned producer Dante Lattanzi and the pair are using Aston’s Spirit and Origin mics to record Troy’s distinctive soulful vocal and acoustic guitar. He remembers first encountering the Origin in the studio:
“I was in complete disbelief. Number one it was beautiful, number two it sounded amazing.”
The New York-based artist is also using an Aston Halo reflection filter for a consistent vocal sound.
