Major UK radio station kmfm choose Aston Origins
One of the UK’s leading independent radio stations, kmfm, have chosen Aston Origins to re-equip their 12 studios at their Kent HQ, opting to buy British having tested the Aston mics against costlier options.
The music and news station has a weekly audience of 200,000 listeners in Kent, England, broadcasting on fm, DAB, online, smartspeaker and app.
Rob Wills, the station's Head of Broadcast said "We were about to place an order on a set of different microphones that were significantly more expensive. We had heard great things about the Aston microphones."
"We called the team, explained what we needed and they suggested we tried the Origin. It was hard to believe that they really would stand up at 25% of the cost we were about to spend... but this is one of those lessons in life. Lots of money doesn't mean it's the best."
The Origin is Aston’s first and best-selling microphone, a large diaphragm condenser which has a growing fan base amongst musicians, streamers and broadcasters. Known for its warmth and transparency, its ground-breaking design and for being near-indestructible, the Origin offers stunning sound quality at an affordable price.
"We A-B’ed both mics through our processing and the Aston sounded brighter, cleaner, more responsive (and you get a pin badge). There is nothing not to like about these mics. Plus the saving meant we could invest in other areas of the studio and when you are purchasing 12+ mics... it was a very welcomed saving. Please try these microphones, they are awesome." Said Rob.
We are delighted to welcome Rob and the kmfm team to the Aston family!
