Life at the top of the voiceover industry with Aston artist Guy Harris
If you watch TV, listen to radio, go shopping or attend events, you will almost certainly have heard the silken voice of Guy Harris. With multiple VOX Awards for best male voice over Guy is one of the UK’s best known and in-demand voiceover artists, with clients ranging from Apple and Disney to BBC and ITV, plus countless retailers, corporates and video production companies.
Guy works from his own studio with up to twenty jobs per day coming in from all corners of the globe, and the variety of requests speaks volumes of his versatility; In a single day he might be called upon for ‘Voice of God’ [events announcements], in-store promotions, radio commercials, corporate videos or voicings for TV programmes including Good Morning Britain and Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.
An Aston Spirit mic is always on hand in his vocal booth, along with his Neve preamps and Soundcraft desk, and he reckons it stands up alongside some very costly opposition:
“If I’m honest, I can’t tell the difference between the Spirit and the Neumann U87.” He told us.
In our exclusive interview with Guy he gives a fascinating account of the voiceover business and his path to the top of the profession.
We’re proud to welcome Guy Harris to the Aston family!
