Jazz legend George Benson on board with Aston microphones

Aston Mics have presented all-time guitar great George Benson with a custom-engraved Aston Spirit microphone in recognition of the jazz legend’s five-decade musical legacy.

The ten-times Grammy Award and NEA Jazz Master winner is also taking delivery of a matched stereo pair of Aston Starlight SDC mics for his amplification rig.

He was headlining at London’s Eventim Apollo as part of the Apollo Night Summer Series, a week of concerts which also featured fellow Aston-owner Burt Bacharach, who shared the stage with British RnB singer and songwriter Joss Stone.

Aston’s UK Sales Director Richard Powell presented the personalised Spirit mic to George before the performance, during which the artist treated the audience to some of the highlights from his extensive repertoire.

George plays his trademark Ibanez guitar through two of his own signature Fender Hot Rod Deluxe combos on stage and said: “I’m looking forward to hearing the Starlights stereo pair on my amps.”

George continues his European dates through July with performance in Germany, Spain and France. His new album ‘Walking to New Orleans’ is available now. For more details check out the official George Benson website.
