#HelloHalo – the stars spotted using Aston’s curvy, cure-all reflection filter

With so many musicians having to use improvised recording environments during the pandemic, using a truly effective reflection filter has become more important than ever. Aston Halo’s combination of absorption and diffusion, making pretty much any indoor space useable for world-class vocals, has found favour with countless home-based musicians and producers - and among them are some very familiar faces…

Ed Sheeran has told his Instagram fans how, during lockdown, he worked in “old farms or country houses” with his pal and occasional writing partner, Snow Patrol’s Johnny McDaid. And it looks like the pair had an Aston Halo in tow to ensure a consistent vocal sound, whatever the acoustic challenges presented by each new venue.

Some of the tracks, including the singles ‘Shivers’ and ‘Bad Habits’, would eventually appear on Ed’s latest album ‘=’. which has been vying with Adele’s ‘30’ for supremacy in the world’s album charts.

Meanwhile another household name who knows all about competing for the no.1 spot has given his followers a glimpse of his Halo-equipped recording space. Seven-times F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton revealed last year that he was the mysterious rapper XNDA who featured on Christina Aguilera’s 2018 hit ‘Pipe’. Now he records his own music: “…a bunch of different songs that perhaps some of you will be able to connect to. They have helped me through some of the most difficult times.” he posted.

Sheeran and Hamilton are not the only A-listers to have relied on the Aston Halo for their vocal sound recently; other sightings include UK songstress jorja Smith, who was perhaps using hers to record her latest album ‘Be Right Back’, rapper Dave, soon to be embarking on his ‘We’re All In This Together’ world tour, and Swedish-English singer Mabel, whose latest single, “Let Them Know” has charted in the UK and Ireland.
