Catherine Anne Davies - Aston Spirits and the Anchoress
Multi-instrumentalist, writer and producer Catherine Anne Davies aka The Anchoress chose a multi-track recorder over driving lessons for her 18th birthday. She still doesn’t drive and describes it as ‘a fatal decision’ - but her musical career suggests otherwise. Her credits include collaborations with Manic Street Preachers, Simple Minds, Nitin Sawhney and more, and she is currently working on her second solo album as The Anchoress.
A keen collector of vintage guitars, synths and recording gear, Catherine swears by her Chandler Redd 47 mic pre and the pair of Aston Spirits she has permanently stationed above her upright piano. “They’ve just been perfect.” She told us.
