Aston artist tops UK singles charts

Singer/songwriter Kenya Grace has hit the top spot in the UK single charts with her track ‘Strangers’. She is only the second female artist to hit no.1 with a self-written, performed and produced song. Kate Bush was the other.

Kenya uses an Aston Origin condenser mic to capture her distinctive vocals, posting regular drum'n'bass and electronica-infused, home-grown video performances on her increasingly popular social channels.

She told Rolling Stone magazine: “I love being free with [my] socials and, like, just posting stuff, whatever it is that I make that week. ‘Strangers’ came out really fast, which was great.”

At the time of writing Kenya Grace is halfway through her debut tour, with the USA dates commencing in early December. Her follow-up to ‘Strangers’, the single ‘Only in My Mind’ is already nearing a million views on YouTube.
