Aston Stealth wins NAMM TEC Award!
Wooooohooooo!!!! The Aston Stealth has won ‘Best Microphone – Sound Reinforcement’ in the NAMM Show 35th annual Technical Excellence and Creative Awards (TEC Awards). It’s a great honour for Aston Mics and also a flag-wave for UK design and manufacturing - Stealth was the only UK-built product nominated. Thank you to all you music and audio professionals who voted and everyone who has supported our boutique British brand.
This was Aston’s third NAMM Awards nomination, which is incredible given the company only formed in 2015 and Stealth is only the fourth mic in the range!
NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) said:: “Aston Microphones has already proved that not only can a British team design some of the best microphones in the world, but they can build them in the UK and make them affordable for everyone too.”
The super-versatile Stealth, which could just have easily been entered in the recording mics section, has been one of the industry’s huge success stories from its launch last year. With active and passive modes, built-in class A preamp, phantom power auto detect and 4 discrete signal paths providing a choice of voices (pretty much four fantastic mics in one), Stealth has already found its way into the studios and onto the stages of the world’s top professionals. Producers, engineers, musicians, voiceover artists, broadcasters, podcasters and gamers are all discovering the ground-breaking microphone which sounds a million dollars but costs just £299 / 339€ / $379.
The TEC Award comes soon after Stealth won Music Tech’s ‘Gear of the Year – Best Microphone’ accolade along with nominations for Sound On Sound and Resolution magazines’ annual awards.
