Novellos and Origins with songwriting legend Eg White

Category : Artists

Eg White’s songwriting and production career has seen collaborations with pop royalty including Adele, Tom Odell, Beverley Knight, Kylie Minogue, Linkin Park, James Blunt, Duffy, James Morrison, Natalie Imbruglia, Joss Stone, Florence and the Machine, Will Young and more.

He has won two Novello Awards, once for Best Song Musically and Lyrically (2004 - "Leave Right Now” performed by Will Young) and once for Songwriter of the Year (2009). He was nominated for a Grammy Award for the Adele hit ‘Chasing Pavements’, one of three tracks he worked on with the singer for her debut album 19.

Eg has helped with the development of Aston microphones as a member of the Aston 33, a panel of top industry practitioners who perform blind listening tests, comparing each new Aston release against a range of other mics to ensure it sounds the best, even up against some far more expensive mics.

Still affectionately known as the ‘33’ after the original membership, the panel now numbers more than 90 artists, engineers and producers.

Having encountered the Aston Origin in a few sessions, both in the USA and Europe, Eg has now made it a fixture in his mic collection, often used in preference to some very expensive options at his disposal:

“The Origin embarrasses my mics that cost 10 or 30 times as much - it often just comes up sounding better than them.”

Thanks for the love Eg. Great to have you in the family.
