Back on firm ground with sky-diving sound engineer Samantha White

When Samantha White is not indulging her passions for sky diving and scuba diving she finds time for her career as a sound engineer, producer and tour manager for a host of venue-filling artists including Rick Astley, Nicole Scherzinger, Emili Sandé, Gwen Stefani, Go West, Mariah Carey and many more.

Describing herself as a 'failed musician turned engineer...' Samantha arrived in the world of toursound via stints in retail and in the audio rental business. She is currently on the road ‘non-stop’ with Rick Astley and has dates with Take That in the diary for later in the year.

Samantha’s attention was initially drawn to the Aston Starlight SDCs when she saw a fellow engineer using the onboard lasers to precisely target the mics, but it was on hearing them she decided to adopt them, along with the Aston Spirit, as part of her touring toolkit.

“I was very impressed, they sounded great, none of that HF break up, just a really smooth natural sound and a really good stereo mix.”
