British singer-songwriter James Vickery, whose silky vocals and cross-genre sound have earned him a devoted following in the alternative R&B scene which, he admits, he fell into quite accidentally. James shared the early stages of his musical journey with us, which began with vocal training to overcome childhood health issues “a lot of health implications left me needing a vocal coach to learn how to speak again" His singing aspirations, initially just a passion, took on a new necessity as it became part of his recovery process. “Singing was a natural progression to improve diction and breathing…I’ve been on this journey pretty organically since.”
